I bought this to connect two ends of a flexible stainless steel chimney liner that I had installed in our chimney for a wood stove. During the course of the installation some of the insulation was pulled from the liner somewhere in the flue and bunched up seizing the liner. I was unable to advance the liner nor move it back out. Fortunately the bottom of the liner was a few feet above the damper and employing some contortionist moves I was able to reach the bottom of the liner through the damper. I cut the excess liner from the top of the chimney and used that section to connect to the bottom of the liner through the damper.

My big concern was ovalizing it to fit through the damper and match up to the already ovalized bottom section of the liner. Working slowly and in small steps I was able to get a darn near perfect match. The coupler was installed using high temperature gasket cement and stove sealer.

There is not much else I can add here. It is exactly as advertised, it arrived in a timely fashion, and it worked for my circumstances.
