Have been using a fireplace insert for years that was just terrible. Got to the point where it was never used because fires were so difficult to start (always smoked the house up) and never really burned right. After reading about chimney liners and examining the current install figured we'd give this 90's vintage Avalon insert one last try. Ordered the Flexliner from Fireside at a reasonable price. Chose Fireside because they could ovalize the end for us. This was perfect for getting around the brick and mortar smoke shelf and flue. The kit arrived very quickly, and after reading the instructions, and viewing several video's in advance, assembly was easy enough. 2 men are required for the job of insulating, straightening, and feeding the thing down the ceramic flue pipe.

I have had 2 cold days and took advantage of them top test things out, all I can say is this thing burns wood like it was meant to now. Not a hint of smoke backing into the living area on startup. The fires now burn like they are fine tuned fuel injected turbo engines. Burns very, very well, long lasting and efficient, cranks out more heat than I ever remember. Very happy with my purchase, delivery speed, options available and service from the staff.
